About

Located in one of Tbilisi’s prominent and rapidly developing areas near Lisi Lake, the project explores a new architectural expression for a McDonald’s restaurant, combining the brand’s recognizable identity with a contemporary and site-responsive design approach. The concept positions the building not simply as a functional restaurant, but as a distinctive architectural element within the surrounding urban landscape.

The main architectural feature is a layered facade composed of a transparent glass envelope and a sculptural outer layer of folded metal mesh. The mesh is shaped with a series of varying oval openings derived from the geometry of the McDonald’s logo, transforming a familiar brand element into an architectural language. The perforated skin introduces depth and texture while filtering natural light and creating changing visual effects throughout the day

The concept also considers the building’s appearance after dark, when the relationship between the illuminated interior and the perforated metal layer creates a softer, more dynamic facade. Together with the landscaped surroundings and open dining areas, the design aims to create an inviting destination that contributes to the character of the area while offering a distinctive interpretation of the McDonald’s brand.
